Be a Zienzele Volunteer!
Except for the small stipends to a few field workers in Zimbabwe, the Zienzele Foundation is an all-volunteer organization. You can join us!
Just email jimclark@tops-tele.com or call 802 439 6198
One great way to support Zienzele is to be a “basket vendor.” Perhaps you can participate in an International Craft Fair or similar venue. You could even organize a “basket party” in your home. (Think tupperware!) We’ll send you baskets and brochures to sell on our behalf. In addition to raising funds for the Foundation, you help us by becoming the face of Zienzele in your locale.
- If you are a good organizer then consider what the “Friends of Zienzele” do in Kyoto Japan. Each year they organize a Run/Walk Event in one of the many beautiful city parks of Kyoto. By enlisting the help of sponsors, each runner/walker, on behalf of the Friends of Zienzele, raises funds that help us expand our efforts. These individual efforts collectively make the Friends of Zienzele of Kyoto a consistent and significant supporter of our work.
- If writing comes easily to you, help us write a grant. Often times a fresh perspective on our work can be the key to a new funding source. Researching charitable organizations and exchanging ideas with friends and colleagues can be a very effective first step in a grant proposal.
- If you have an interest in drama, consider organizing and performing a children’s theater production. Jodi Picoult has done this for several years in Hanover, New Hampshire, with astonishing results. Proceeds can be used to assist Zienzele in supporting child headed households in rural Zimbabwe. This is a great example of children helping children.
These are just a few of the ways people are helping Zienzele. The possibilities are many and with a bit of ingenuity you too could create a unique way to help us. We would love to hear your ideas.
